two and half men is a TVshow, I used to be bored by the sitcom untill I discovered this one. It's the greatest TV show I ever seen, no wonder why it's one of america best TVshow .Created by Lee Aronsohn and Chuck lorre, the show casts Charlie Sheen as Charlie, John Cryer as Alan the brother of Charlie and Angus Jones as Jake, the son of Alan. The story is about an hedonistic song writer, charlie, living with his brother, alan, and nephew jake. What I really like about this comedy, his use of a formal language, figure of speech, and never the characters will curse whenever the situation. Because that was my first impression in my first months when I came in Calgary, I was shocked by the amount of curse my friends used, wondering if they were a possibiolity to communicate without cursing. I remember asking one time to myself what did happen to the others words of the websters. Because it was not enriching for my vocabulary.
The other thing in this show, is that it so funny that sometime you lose your breath laughing so the figure of speech are creative and smart. Hope you'll have the chance on day to enjoy this sitcom, very good opportunity to enrich your vocabulary. Because at two weeks to end of the semester I still enjoy it with my dictionnary on my laps. Every episode, I learn more than 5 new words, and they're all at the formal level.
by the way, Good luck for the final exam you all!

march mardness
that month is more breath taking than the NBA championship. Taking place in march, NCCA, the national collegiate athletic association , lead their basket ball sesson down to the final four. Each team has one game, lose or win.Win, move on to the next step; lose, no seconfd chance, see you next year to compete for the national title. So stressful for these young student players , games winning by one , two...so tight there no second chance and every team works then her way out to keep her position on track otherwise you will have to wait the year after to compete again. That's when you see a team dominates an entire game and lose at the end by one, so frustrating. And these young players have also to play at their best to cacht the NBA recruiter attention, when at the beside practicing they should keep they grade up otherwise they coach would have to put them down from the team. For sure sometimes, the word challenge tend to match with impossiblity, but the good thing is that good effort always pays back.
But unfortunatly my favorite team , form Texas, got cut off, so more interest to keep watching.
So time save for preparing exam, see you next year then!

Fantasia for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra,Op. 80 in C minor
Draft of one of his most popular composition, the symphony #9 allegro presto, the great thing about this composition of Ludwig Van Beethoven, the fantasia piano, which has an allure of a piano concerto, is that he composed it in an improvised way for a ceremony to raise money on his name, still it's a masterpiece which is for me a communication .
This piece is very enlightened and so expressive. It beginning gy a creating and capturing in the first movement the attention of the listener by the piano , which start with a strong tone characteristic of beethoven, as if a strong desire were struggling to express himself. Then turn down keeping you on the road in a more clear mood trying now to work his way out , not a resignation , but no fight against the inner. Then the orchestra enter the game, introducing by an allegro tone, with now the answer of the piano more peaceful and hopeful as if the vision has become more clear. Realising that you don't have to fight against the inner, but on contrary just have to take the way enlightened it, the inner, the true deep inside... That's when the third novement , with the orchestra is now the expression of the magnificence, because finally the ego realise that it was not a matter of fight to have the lead, but it was just a quest the real inner. And again the piano answers heavenly, because the truth have been found, there the ego is free, flying like a bird because there no weight of itself, which simply called the fulness. Finally the fourth mouvement, introducing by the orchestra , stronger and powerful than ever because the ego has now reach the light of the inner, the real truth. So there is no more struggling, no more selfish inclination to express oneself. That's when the Chorus finally play a part, because once the ego touch he inner, it become link to the Eternal. So from on, his expression become a praise. This is how you might feel if it'a you get the time enjoy the trip.

Hollywood has lost his shakespeare
One of the great director of hollywood, the oscar-winnning filmmaker of the english patient, Anthony Minghella has passed away two weeks ago. Director of Truly, Madly, Deeply(1993), Mr. Wonderful(1993), The English Patient(1996), The Talended Mr. Ripley(1999), Play(2000), Cold Mountain(2003), Breaking and Entering(2006) and The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, the movies he has directed have been nominated for 24 oscars and won 10 oscars. What I did really like with Minghella, made me call him the shakespeare of Hollywood, is his ability to discuss a philosophic question behind the intrigue of his "play" without affecting the uniqueness and originality of piece itself. Let's take for example one of the popular play of shakespeare, Hamlet. The play vividly charts the course of real and feigned madness in a wondefull story and explores at the same time themes of treachery, revenge, incest, and moral corruption in this remarkable tragedy unique of his kind. That's the case with Minghella, when you take for example a movie like cold mountain, at first you are astonish by the originality of the storyand then amazed the incredible review of secession war (the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865) potraying how hatred amd insanity can put the human being so low degrading oneself by his vileness; oppose to his ability to create, to reveal his greatness by the opposite feeling. Of course, most of the movie Minghella directed were based on book, but his talent was his ability to give a such fascinating apsect to these stories, giving you the feeling of reading an historical piece of literature. But you cannot get this feeling with all the movies he directed, as a matter of fact I didn' t like the English patient, boring, neither Breaking and entering, annoying.

So Funny these Ads!
Have you ever sat around just to enjoy the ads on the TV, so funny they are; sometime more funny than the biggest screens comedies. For sure, most of them are annoying, silly, irritating…but whenever you have the chance to catch a funny one, at first you get astounded by how possible could someone get such imagination, and then you die laughing amazed by the story.
The last one that I remember was on a brand cereal new cereal. The scene takes place in a factory, in the packaging plant. On the manufacturing process, one of the plant employees surprisingly realized at one point of the production chain that the product which is originally square, had changed his shape appearing looking like a lozenge. So as he was intrigued by the "so-called" change of the cereal shape, he stoped the production process which turn on the caution alarm and awared the production manager and other engineers who, as "silly" that can appears felt intrigued, felt intrigued too asking how long the new shape had been put on the market...so funny!
I bet the company was trying to tell us that the quality of his haven't changed as we all know that a square is a lozenge with four right angle.

Yeeh Hippo,Yoyo
Yeeh Hippo, Yoyo is actually the title of a track of a zouglou album of the ivoirian band Petit Yode et l'Enfant Siro release in 2002 named Antilaleca. Zouglou is a music genre from the Ivory Coast that first evolve in the 1990s. It started with students from the University of Abidjan ( now University of Cocody), which by the way is where I studied. Popular with youth, Zouglou is a dance oriented music style which lyrics are written in French street slang and sometime in local dialects ;the lyrics are satire of the society(using humour to depict anything going wrong in the ivorian society).
As a matter of fact the story behind the track Yeeh Hippo, Yoyo is a humoristic depiction of youth who have lost their cultural identity to the american hip-hop culture.
The story is about five young who identified themself with hip-hop culture, calling therefore each other by hippo and answering yoyo. And with of course all the accessory...baggy jeans,XXL shirt, boot, loud gansta rap music. So these young decided one week-end to travel to a natural park enjoy their spare time. As they got distract at the park by the loudy music they where listen to, one one them got hit by an hippopotamus. But they got the chance to escape and went to a another place in the park. Then, when they felt secure and started to laugh from their misadventure, one of them tried to greet a another friend for awaring him of the danger by using their greeting code which is hyp hop (with yoyo as answer). But the problem was that he was stuttering, so as he was struggling to say hip hop, his friends heard hip-po-po and felt that he was instead awaring them of the menace of another hippopotamus. They all therefore ran away leaving him alone in the national park...

And The Underdog Made History Instead!
The Super Bowl, opposing this year the New England Patriot and the New York Giant was quite unique in the football history. We indeed had the revelation of the perfection with the performance of New England Patriot, which made a perfect session without lose any of his game throughout the season. But as unpredictable that could have been, they appeared to lose the only and most important game of season, the final. And as ironic that could sound, it was versus the underdog of the season, the Giant. What can we say, shameless, bad luck or lack of perfection... Anyhow, they did really had an astonishing performance throughout this season even if they haven't been able to make history. Let's just hope that the future will give us the opportunity to contemplate what we did call with reason, the perfection . I remember the conversation I had with my next-door neighbor the day after the super bowl in our building hallway. He is in early thirty, which implies his passion for sport such football and hockey. That's sometime "unbearable" for his wife, but what we say, he's a man and this is our society. And having a conversation with him, have always been a real challenge for me. Because, being a native speaker, the way he speaks involves every time the use of idioms and figure of speech. And in such situation, when he and I have a conversation, while sharing, I usually guess the meaning from the context of our conversation, memorize the expression or idiom he searched for it in my dictionary when I get home. So on this day after the Super Bowl, we shared our experience from the game which this year had been beyond all expectation with the underdog winning over the favorite. As usual, I had to memorize all the new word and expression he was using and made up my mind. But that time, I searched only for one word when I got home.Good sign that I am getting better and that the eap is helpful. So returning to the football championship, the Giant was remarkable, they gave a great football game working they way out to the victory. Of course it wasn't easy for them to defeat the team that had defeated all the teams of the championship, but they had that game...I'll just say unbelievable; Yes unbelievable, it wasn't yesterday, but even today I still remember how the defense of the Giant was unbelievable, being such a complexity for the Patriot to execute their attack. No game plan was good enough an answer to the Giant' swarm. For sure the Patriot led the game a touchdown answering the Giant's lead, but couldn't work their way out. The game was very tight pressuring Brady, who was just recovering from an ankle injured. Still, he was as usual at the top of his performance but the fact was just that the Giants were everywhere, struggling to keep the game tight because aftermath the Giants were confronting the best team of the league. Then came the moment of true, where Eli, battling the Patriot enraged defense, deliveried his pass to Tyree for the ultime touchdown. That was it, the catch of the victory!

Childhood story
In my childhood I used to go on vacation with my cousins on the country side where my grandma used to live. We would travel over two hundred miles on the road to get there. My mom usually dropped us; she would use the occasion to pay grandma a visit. She had never stayed over the week-end; otherwise she would miss the Monday at work. The thing is when she took her vacation, we used go on the trip in other city visited her old friends or to go sightseeing. I remember on time, I was probably nine or ten, we were planning to go in city at one hundred mile from our home town for its beautiful beach, but on the road the trip began disastrously in the rain. And it had been raining for four days straight before our trip turned sunny; but it was only two days remaining. So we didn’t quite enjoy it at the end.
